Active Champions
Stanton’s Active Champions are a group of 8 children from years 4, 5 and 6 who are eager to encourage more exercise, games and fun for their fellow pupils during lunchtimes.
The children were asked to complete an application form to express why they wanted to be an Active Champion and what skills they have that would make them suitable for this role. The children were then selected by the staff and trained by Miss Disney, our PE lead.
During their training day they discussed the importance of exercise and practised organising and leading a range of games that will enable children to be active, develop teamwork and use a range of physical skills. As part of the training day, they also worked alongside the lunchtime supervisors who are also eager to support the children in developing their sports leadership skills and making lunchtimes as active and fun as possible. The children thoroughly enjoyed their training day and are looking forward to fulfilling their role in school.
Well done Active Champions!
