Hola Mexico! Topic Day.

Persuasive Radio Adverts

We worked in groups to develop a persuasive radio advert based on our model text 'Visit Africa'. The children organised roles within their group and worked on developing their tone, expression and enthusiasm, that would persuade an audience. This really helped the children to deepen their understanding of persuasive devices and familiarity of the elements of a holiday advert in preparation for their own writing based on 'Visit Mexico'.

No One Wraps Like an Elf!
Christmas 2022

Badger Class and Deer Class teamed up to deliver another spectacular performance!

We all had lots of fun putting this together and we were amazed to discover how many talented actors, dancers and rappers we have at Stanton. Well done to all the children who worked so hard to learn lots of lines, remember dance steps and organise all of our many props. You should all be really proud!

Here are some photos we took during the day. More funny snaps will follow thanks to the children that discovered how to work an old camera we used as a prop.

Mountain Workshop

We had a fantastic day with Simon, who is a real life mountineer! His stories were really interesting! We worked in teams to explore Technical vocabulary, Mountain locations, Mountain environments, Mountain wildlife and Survival tips. We used our knowledge of adaptation to create a new species fact file.
