Procedure for the beginning and the end of the day
Morning Drop-off arrangements 8.35-8.45 am
The ‘handover point’ for morning drops offs will be the white atrium doors next to the main enterance doors. There will be a member of staff on the door each morning at 8.35 and the door will open at this time.
The door will be open until 8.45. (Any children arriving late after the door is closed at 8.45 will need to go to the Main Entrance and parents may be asked to complete a Punctuality Notice).
Parents will not be permitted through the atrium doors. Please pass any messages on via the school office via the main entrance.
Children will go through the door straight into their classrooms to start the school day.
The morning register will be taken at 8.45
Children attending the Before School Wraparound Care will be handed over to their class teacher by the Wraparound Care staff.
End of School Day Pick-up arrangements - 3.15 pm
Parents should walk around to the playground area at the back of school to collect their children. The access to this is through the black gate past the external hall doors. The gate will be open from 3.05 onwards. There will be zones for each class’s parents to wait.
IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD TO PICK UP, PLEASE WAIT AT THE YOUNGER CHILD’S PICK UP POINT FIRST.
Hedgehog Class, Otter Class, Fox Class, Badger Class – Children exit through their classroom side doors and the parent pick up points are outside the individual classrooms.
Deer Class, – Children exit through the top corridor door.
Squirrel Class - Children exit through their external classroom door next to the atrium doors. Parents should wait at the bottom of the steps outside the external door.
Rabbit Class - Children exit through the atrium doors. Parents should wait outside the atrium doors to collec their child.
If a parent of a child in Deer or Badger Classes (Year 6/Year 5) wishes to give permission for their child to leave the school premises alone, they must give permission in writing to the school office prior to school staff allowing them off the premises.
Children attending the After School Wraparound Care will be handed over to the Wraparound Care staff in the hall by their class teacher at the end of the school day.
The school day lasts for 6.5 hours between 8.45am and 3.15pm each day. Over the course of a week (6.5hours x 5 = 32.5 hours), the school's opening hours meets the minimum length of the school day as set out by the Government.
