Mathematics at Stanton Primary School
Intent
At Stanton Primary school, we aim to deliver a mathematics curriculum which fosters a deep understanding and love of mathematics that is accessible to all. We strive to deliver lessons that are engaging, creative and bring out a sense of enjoyment, confidence and curiosity about the subject.
Core Aims for our Pupils
· - To develop an enthusiasm and motivation to explore the various areas of maths.
· - To become fluent in the fundamentals of maths for rapid recall and application across a range of concepts.
· - To use mathematical vocabulary (Talk 4 Maths) for reasoning and problem solving.
· - To retain and build on knowledge of a range of mathematical concepts.
· - To recognise the importance of mathematics in everyday life and for their future (e.g. money and measures).
