PE

At Stanton Primary School, we follow the Get Set 4 PE Physical Education curriculum to ensure high-quality PE provision for all pupils. Our PE curriculum is designed to promote lifelong participation in physical activity, improve physical competence, and support pupils’ health and wellbeing. Funding from the PE and Sport Premium is used strategically to enhance teaching and learning, broaden opportunities for physical activity, and increase participation in sport across the school.

We enrich our curriculum through a wide range of after-school sports clubs, active lunchtime opportunities, and participation in inter-school competitions and festivals. These experiences enable pupils to apply their skills in competitive and collaborative contexts, build confidence, and represent the school with pride.

Our use of the PE and Sport Premium supports pupils to:

  • Develop fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, and sport-specific skills
  • Increase participation in regular physical activity, including for less-active pupils
  • Improve confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes towards physical challenge
  • Access a broad and inclusive range of sports and physical activities
  • Experience competitive sport and develop teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship
  • Develop staff subject knowledge and confidence through high-quality CPD to ensure sustainable improvements in PE provision
  • Understand the importance of physical activity for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle
